The Dog Days Sidewalk Festival is DC’s best laid-back adventure. Now in its 18th year, the event covers 25 blocks in the heart of Washington, D.C., centered around the MidCity neighborhood’s bustling 14th and U Street corridors. Dog Days draws more than 20,000 visitors to the neighborhood on the first weekend in August each year to experience unique and interactive commerce at more than 100 local businesses. Support your favorite local businesses, then wander the surrounding blocks to explore something new. Meander, explore, and enjoy all that MidCity has to offer!
Founded in 2000 by Home Rule, this event has grown from a one-block festival to now include the vibrant area on 14th Street NW between Thomas Circle and Florida Avenue, and U Street from 7th Street to 17th Street. This year’s event is supported by the MidCity BID Exploratory Committee, which is seeking to form a business improvement district to beautify and promote the neighborhood [link to partners page].
